The Journey That Built the Artist
FOE Cjay’s story began in Macon, Georgia, where music became part of his life from an early age. Raised singing in church, he developed a passion for music that would eventually become the foundation of his career.
Just days after his fourth birthday, Cjay experienced the heartbreaking loss of his father to a sudden heart attack. While the loss changed his life forever, it also became a source of strength, resilience, and purpose—qualities that continue to shape both the man and the artist he is today.
Throughout middle school and high school, Cjay continued developing his vocal abilities as a member of the school choir while remaining active in his church choir. These experiences helped refine the soulful vocal style that has become one of the defining characteristics of his music.
Music wasn’t his only passion. A gifted multi-sport athlete, Cjay competed in football, basketball, wrestling, and track before continuing his wrestling career at Labette Community College. The discipline, determination, and competitive mindset he developed through athletics now fuel the same relentless approach he brings to his music career.
